My Story

Growing up, I witnessed firsthand the effects of gun violence, gang culture, and experienced the deep emotional impact of divorced parents. Those experiences shaped me—and they planted the seeds for the work I do today. My path to becoming a therapist started with a passion for activism and community healing. I knew I wanted to be part of the solution, creating safe, supportive spaces for people who’ve lived through real pain.

In my practice, I show up as a human first. I understand what it means to carry trauma, to feel stuck in survival mode, and to still have the tenacity to want more for yourself. My goal is to walk alongside you—whether you're unpacking generational cycles, healing from trauma, or learning how to trust yourself again.

I specialize in working with parents, adults, and teenagers who are navigating anxiety, depression, complex trauma, identity issues, and life transitions. I bring a culturally informed, client-centered, and down-to-earth approach to therapy.

My journey as a therapist began in university counseling centers, where I supported students navigating identity, stress, and major life transitions. From there, I expanded my work to include outpatient hospital settings and non-profit organizations serving children and families impacted by systems like DCFS. These experiences deepened my commitment to showing up for communities navigating trauma, instability, and systemic barriers—with care, cultural humility, and compassion at the core.

I’ve also been on the front lines of mental health advocacy—as a proud NUHW member, I have spent six months on strike, fighting for ethical, accessible care and sustainable working conditions for providers and clients alike. That experience reminded me that healing isn’t just personal—it’s political. I bring that same passion for justice and integrity into every session.
